The Cultural Contact Point Croatia is a department established within the Directorate for International Cultural Co-operation of the Ministry of Culture in 2006. The Department is responsible for the promotion of the EU Culture Programme (2007–2013) in the Republic of Croatia.
The Culture programme (2007-2013) is a third-generation framework programme of the EU for cultural co-operation promoting transnational mobility of artists, transnational mobility of cultural and artistic works and intercultural dialogue.
The role of the CCP Croatia is:
- to ensure the promotion of the Culture Programme by providing Croatian citizens with information on the Culture Programme
- to facilitate the participation in the Programme by the widest number of Croatian cultural professionals and operators
- to provide information to potential candidates for financial support under the Community cultural mechanisms
- to ensure consistent contact and an exchange of information with the various national institutions giving support to the cultural sector
- to contribute to complementarities between the actions of the Culture Programme and national support measures
- to maintain contact between the participants in the various Community programmes and a link with the other sources of information on the various Community programmes.
In practice the above activities include organizing annual seminars (information meetings) on the Programme in the Croatian towns and counties; arranging individual advisory meetings with cultural operators; providing technical assistance to potential programme beneficiaries; maintaining and regularly updating the CCP Croatia website with all relevant information on the Programme, the Programme calls and other related information; maintaining and regularly updating a bilingual (HR/EN) Culture Programme Project and Partner Search Database aimed at both national and international cultural operators in order to assist possible candidates to establish partnerships; elaborating and distributing information/promotion material on the Programme - publishing brochures and information leaflets; ensuring presentation of the Programme in the national, local and regional printed/AV media; organizing joint eventswith representatives of different fields - private and public cultural organisations (cultural centres, libraries, thetrical groups, theatres, music schools, music associations, museums, galleries, writers' associations, festivals, publishers), cultural units of regional and local bodies, associations of national minorities and NGOs, as well as representatives of tourist and education sectors (tourist organisations, regional tourist boards, primary schools and open universities) - on a national and international level; maintaining bilateral and multilateral cooperation with other CCPs in order to foster CCP networking and strengthen co-operation by jointly organising cultural events and other activities related to the Programme; providing information on all other funding possibilities - in the context of the pre-accession funds - other European funds and initiatives open to the cultural sector by referring the enquirers to a relevant national contact point or to the responsible national/regional/local authorities; and maintaining contact and co-operation activities with the Delegation of the European Commission to the Republic of Croatia .
